"Hello and Welcome to St Oswald's"
I was appointed to Tile Hill in November 2010 after serving nine years in Bath and Wells. I'm a Londoner and I'm a young looking 49 with two sons, one of whom is at Plymouth University. I also serve as Wing Chaplain for the Bristol & Gloucestershire Air Cadets and on a number of company boards.
St Oswald's is the leading Anglo-Catholic parish of South and West Coventry, set within a Basil Spence building. So if you like "smells and bells" then St Oswald's is for you.
I feel that a good church is one in which children are made welcome and take a full part in the life of the church. At St Oswald's we have children in the choir and serving at the altar; we also run the great "COOL Kids" club. Church is really a fun place to be.
I believe in being open to all and I have a very open policy on weddings. St oswald's is a great place to hold your special day. I have a style which makes the day so nice and warm for everyone - don't take my word for it - talk to those who I have married over the years). Again, I have an open policy for baptism, you will be most welcome to have little "Johnny" done here.
I also believe that churches should support each other and relationships with other local churches are great with lots attending the annual Good Friday service.
Our "Cream Tea" event was attended by 60 people and we will be holding Chilli and Fish & Chip nights later in the year.
We are a growing and developingchurch community with new things coming up. Please come along - it will be worth a look sometime
Fr Nick
Please note: Opinions expressed on this page are those of the Vicar and are not necessarily those of the PCC or the congregation - especially the bit about "young looking."
