St Oswald's Church

Although it is nearly 2000 years since John the Baptist "dunked" Jesus in the river, families still feel a need to bring their children to church for Baptism. Likewise, couples still regularly turn to the Church for their weddings (indeed, the number of church weddings performed in the UK increased by 4% in 2011).

At St Oswald's you will find a family-friendly service for both of these important celebrations. Everything is explained along the way and (particularly at Baptisms) you may find yourself unexpectedly taking part. It is also worth remembering that having your child baptised in the Church of England is entirely free (although how much you spend on the party afterwards is up to you).

If you wish to get married at St Oswald's or have "Little Johnny" dunked (or even "Big Johnny" - we do adult baptisms as well) please give us a call or speak to Fr Nick after the service on Sunday.

Below you can see some photos taken at recent services.
